For quite a while now – but more since my recent diagnosis with my jaw I have heard the name Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (Joint Hypermobility Syndrome) being thrown in my general direction. Specifically the Hypermobility type.
From what I have read I am able to more or less tick all the boxes especially the joint related issues.
Obviously, my jaw joint is currently dislocated but I have also in the past fully dislocated my shoulders, ankles, wrists and my patella (kneecap) and I have had more sprains than I can list. Speaking of dislocations – I also have to relocate my hip joints at least once per day.
It’s a lot to process. I’m going to bring it up at my GP appointment on Friday.
When I saw your TMJ post, I asked myself if you might have EDS. it took me more than twenty years to get my diagnosis. The generalised anxiety I had been diagnosed with was my blood pressure dropping. Once I got the EDS diagnosis loads of other things were found and recognised as part of the condition. It has helped a lot. I went to a geneticist at a local hospital to get it. I get the awful fatigue and the looks of disbelief you get, too. Just got a diagnosis of hyperadrenergic POTS to add to my list but it is all part and parcel of EDS. Good luck with it all.
